Hack-a-Shaq!

Last night marked a new season for the San Antonio Spurs...and many of you may know that I am a Die-hard Spurs fan! I just love that team. They have such a solid foundation of stand-up players. Have you ever heard of any of the Spurs players getting in trouble with the law or getting in any trouble, for that matter? Ya, didn't think so. They may be getting older, but they're still the greatest! It's a odd years...you do know what has happens in odd years? Championships baby!

Here is a great example of the great leadership they have in Coach Popo-beard, eh...Popovich.

It's gonna be a great season! Go Spurs Go!

Honeymoon

Jimmy and I booked our honeymoon this week! We're going to Guanacaste, Costa Rica for 6 1/2 days, 7 nights. Ever since we were engaged (maybe before) we've talked about going to Costa Rica. We like the idea of going somewhere we could get up and do stuff...not just hang out on the beach. In this part of the country, we'll be near the rainforest and right on the beach. There are so many options for excursions...zip line, ATV riding, hot springs, volcanoes, etc.

One slight change from the norm...we won't be going immediately after our reception. We will be going almost 2 weeks afterward. With Jimmy's job in finance, he won't be able to leave because he can't miss the end of the month (even for a honeymoon). I'm actually pretty excited about not going right away. I've heard from several peeps that they were so tired after their wedding that they would have preferred to wait a little while just so they weren't so worn out during their vacation.

Now, we only have a few more decisions to be made...flowers, cake and I think that's about it. Woohoo!!

It's only 5 months and 26 days til we're married!!!!!

We're getting good cable!

Jimmy and I have had the crappiest cable for WAY too long! Our apartment complex has this contract with AT&T home entertainment a.ka. worst cable ever. We have a very limited number of channels and the ones we do have aren't always clear. Plus, for someone who loves watching sports as much as I do...I've had to live without WGN (Cubs baseball, anyone?) and Fox Sports Net (more baseball and Big XII football, anyone?). It has been quite depressing!

So, not only am I getting said channels, I'm getting a DVR. Jimmy has no idea what he's in for. I love to watch the most random shows and the "rewind" button is my favorite! Oh...I didn't see that, let's rewind! I'm going to own that DVR!

After my noon-4 window on Friday to wait for the DTV guy, I'm going to be glued to the couch!

Finally!

I know it's been a long time, since I've written...sorry to those who have let me know (i.e. Katie and Mel). I've been here and there and everywhere...let's see, where to start?

This past weekend, Jimmy and I flew to Las Vegas to finally meet my first nephew, Liam. I may be a little bit biased, but he is the most beautiful baby I've ever seen. I was able to hold him quite a bit and even get him to go to sleep. I already miss seeing him! I wish Lisa and William lived closer so I could see all of them more than 2-3 times a year. Maybe one day.

While I was in Las Vegas, Lisa and I spent Friday afternoon shopping for wedding dresses. I had already looked at dresses with my mom, but I needed Lisa to validate my thoughts on one particular dress. After trying on about 7 dresses, we tried on the dress in question and sure enough...it's the one! I absolutely love it and I am so comfortable wearing it! I can't wait to put in on in April :)

The wedding plans are coming along nicely. I still haven't decided on a florist, but that's because I haven't talked to any yet. I'll probably do that in the next few weeks. Don't get me wrong, I love being engaged and planning our wedding...but, I am going to be very happy when it's finally here. I'm certainly not going to become a certified wedding planner when this is all said and done. It's just not my thing.

In other news, I just signed up to participate in the Muddy Buddy (www.muddybuddy.com) with my sister-in-law on October 26. It's definitely going to be an adventure. I'll definitely have pictures!
