Well, it's finally happened...that moment that you wait your whole life for and then when it happens you don't know exactly what to think. I'll start from the beginning...
I got home from work about 6:30ish and Jimmy is making dinner (nothing out of the ordinary for him). He suggests that we open a bottle of wine knowing full well that the only bottle of wine we have is the one we got at the vineyard in Wimberley that we were saving for a special occasion. He said, "I know we're saving it but what better day than today. Wednesdays can be special." So, we sit down at the dinner table and start to eat dinner (a super tasty tilapia with lemon sauce). We begin discussing next week's vacation in NYC and what we want to do outside of our already pretty full schedule. We also discuss how things in our life are beginning to take shape and it just feels good. **Mind you, I'm doing most of the talking (don't act surprised) and he just seems to be listening and almost steering the conversation (to no avail). I started talking about a quote I read from George Carlin that was quite profound. The quote is: "Given the right reasons and the right two people, marriage is a wonderful way of experiencing your life." I guess I gave him the perfect segway because the next thing I know...he is saying I couldn't agree more, pulls out the most beautiful ring I've ever seen and says "Will you marry me?" After a long series of "oh my god" repeated quite a few times, I finally said yes. Jimmy claims that I almost spilled my wine, but I don't remember much of that.
So...here we are. Engaged!! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect man to come in to my life and make me as happy as he makes me. I'm excited to spend the rest of my life with him (and no, we haven't set a date yet.)
